Journalist Council of India Has Put Political Parties In The Dock! Said This Big Thing

Delhi Desk : Journalist Council of India has made a big attack on all the Political Parties of the Country. The organisation has alleged that the interests of journalists are not included in the agenda of any political party. Due to this, the trend of unnecessarily harassing journalists has started today.

The above things came to light during a marathon virtual meeting organised under the presidency of Dr. Anurag Saxena, National President of Journalist Council of India (JCI). There was anger among journalists that no political party is serious about their interests. During this, a demand was raised to implement the Journalist Protection Act across the country as soon as possible.

JCI National President Dr. Anurag Saxena questioned the intentions of all the political parties of the country towards journalists. He said that journalists play an important role in taking political parties from the ground to the heights. But neither the Ruling Party nor the Opposition is concerned about the weffare and interests of journalists.

He also expressed concern that our Prime Minister, who is taking effective steps on every front, is also not talking about the welfare and interests of journalists. Today all the political parties talk about every class in their agenda, but the issue of journalists is not in anyone’s agenda.

Journalist Council of India Questioned Political Parties

Dr. Anurag Saxena said that today journalists are being attacked unnecessarily. They are being tortured without any reason. Journalists are being implicated in false cases. Because of this, they are not able to do their work openly and fearlessly.

He raised the question that today when everything is going digital, to what extent is it justified not to recognize E-Paper. Journalists across the country are fighting for their survival, but the Government is not passing Journalist Protection Act in the interest of journalists. This reveals the intentions of the Government towards journalists.

Expressing his views, JCI National Convener Dr. RC Srivastava said that the Government should immediately pay serious attention to the interests of journalists. Also, in view of the safety of journalists, the Journalist Protection Act should be implemented immediately.

During the virtual meeting, senior journalist from Bihar and senior JCI Official Kunal Bhagat raised the problems of the journalists in Bihar. He said that even in Bihar, journalists are being harassed unnecessarily and fake cases are being filed against them.

Senior journalist and JCI National Executive Committee Member Ashok Jha demanded the Government to clarify its policy on the Journalist Protection Act. He said that the Government should implement the Journalist Protection Act as soon as possible, so that journalists can work with a sense of complete security.

In this marathon virtual meeting that lasted for more than two and a half hours, journalists from many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi presented their views. Everyone said that the Government should do justice to the journalists fighting for their survival, so that they can do their work fearlessly.

The journalists participating in the virtual meeting unanimously said that they should raise their voices before the Government for their demands. The journalists said that if their demands are not accepted and the Journalist Protection Act is not implemented, then we will have to fight with full strength for welfare and interest of journalists under the banner of JCI.

During this virtual meeting, seniour journalist and senior Official of the organisation Dr. Vivek Pathak, Ashok Jha, Nikhil KD Verma, Sanjay, Kunal Bhagat, Harishankar Parashar, Nagendra Pandey, Vijay Kumar, Shashi Kumar, Suman, Ramanand, Raghavendra Tripathi, Sanjay Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, SP Chaudhary, Anshika Ojha, Ashish Kumar Pramanik, Nirmit Kumar, Rajiv Ranjan, Jitendra Pathak, Diya Nandini, Vikrant, Raj Lunia, Rajesh Pandey, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Abdul Basit, Vivek Patnaik, Raja Awasthi and others also expressed their views.
